Effective date: October 26, 2026
Lone Vigil Press (“we,” “us”) is the business name of Mark Pritchard, a sole proprietor in Tennessee. This policy explains, in plain words, what information we collect when you visit lonevigilpress.com or buy from our shop, The Outpost, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
We keep this simple: we collect only what we need to run the site, deliver what you buy, and send emails you asked for. We do not sell your personal information.
What we collect
When you buy something from The Outpost
- Your name, email address, and billing details you enter at checkout.
- Your order details, such as what you bought, the price, and the date.
- Everything in The Outpost is a digital download. We do not ship physical items, so we do not ask for a shipping address.
- Checkout runs through WooCommerce, and payment is handled by PayPal. We do not see or store your full card or bank details.
When you join our email list
- Your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it.
- Basic information about how you interact with our emails, such as whether an email was opened or a link was clicked, which our email provider records.
When you contact us
- We do not use a contact form. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write to us.
When you leave a comment
- If you comment on a post, we collect the name, email address, and website (if any) you enter, your comment, and your IP address and browser details to help prevent spam. Your name and comment may be shown publicly with the post. Your email address is not published.
When you visit the site
- We count visits using Koko Analytics, which runs on our own site and does not use cookies. It records simple totals, such as page views and which pages are popular. It does not build a profile of you or follow you to other sites. We do not use any other analytics or advertising tracking.
- Like nearly every website, our web host’s servers automatically keep standard technical logs, which can include your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. These are used for security and keeping the site running.
Why we use it
- To process your order and deliver your digital download.
- To send receipts and answer your questions.
- To show and moderate comments.
- To send our welcome emails and new-post emails, only if you signed up for them.
- To keep the site secure and working.
- To understand, in general terms, which pages people find useful.
- To meet legal and tax recordkeeping requirements.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services we use to run the site, and only what each one needs:
- PayPal processes payments at checkout. PayPal’s own privacy policy applies to the information you give it.
- WooCommerce (on WordPress) runs our shop and stores order records on our site.
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) sends our emails and stores our email list.
- Namecheap hosts our website.
If we add another payment option, we will update this policy.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Cookies
Our visitor counts do not use cookies. Our shop uses a few necessary cookies so your cart and checkout work, for example to remember what is in your cart. PayPal may set its own cookies during checkout. If you leave a comment and choose to have your details saved, the site sets cookies to remember your name and email for next time. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the shop may not work properly without them.
How long we keep it
- Order records are kept as long as needed for taxes, accounting, and handling any questions about your purchase.
- Email list information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to help you.
- Comments are kept with the post unless you ask us to remove them.
- Server logs and visit totals are kept only as long as they are useful for security and running the site.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
- Ask to see, correct, or delete your information by emailing us at lonevigilpress@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to keep some order records where the law requires it.
Children’s privacy
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Keeping information safe
We use reputable services and reasonable steps to protect your information. No website or online service can promise perfect security.
Links to other sites
Our posts may link to other websites, such as government safety resources. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above.
